1. Who you are contracting with

These terms govern your use of lagias.com, app.lagias.com and the Lagias MCP server, operated by HBW Softwares UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Sigbertstraße 5, 51427 Bergisch Gladbach, Germany. By using any of them, or by holding an API key, you agree to them.

2. What Lagias returns

Lagias returns research data and statistical evaluations. Equity factor values for instruments and dates you ask for, backtests and walk-forward tests of a strategy specification you supply, returned as aggregate curves and statistics, and a verdict grading that result against the published thresholds on the methodology page.

That is the whole of it. No output is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security, none of it takes account of your circumstances, objectives or holdings, and none of it may be relied on as a basis for a trading decision. Lagias is not a registered investment adviser or broker-dealer, does not manage money, holds no assets, and executes no orders. Every investment decision you or your agent makes is yours, and investing carries risk including the loss of your capital.

Results are hypothetical simulations produced from criteria and assumptions you supply. Their limitations, and the thresholds a verdict is graded against, are set out at lagias.com/methodology. How we are paid and how the founders’ own trading is sequenced is at lagias.com/disclosures.

3. Access during development

Lagias is in development. The free tier costs nothing, the paid plans are listed at lagias.com/pricing, and access to current factor values is granted per account at our discretion. The service may be changed, interrupted or withdrawn at any time. Asking for access does not entitle you to it. Features described on this site may change or may never ship.

Where a plan is paid, purchases are processed by our merchant of record, Stripe, with Link in front of it, which takes the payment and issues the invoice; your use of the product remains governed by these terms. Nothing becomes chargeable without you starting a checkout and seeing the price first.

4. Your account and your API keys

You need an account to use the service. You are responsible for keeping access to your email or Google account secure, since both can be used to sign in.

An API key acts with the full authority of your account, and its plaintext is shown exactly once, at creation. Store it as you would a password, give each agent its own key, and revoke a key the moment you no longer control where it is running. We email you whenever a key is created on your account; if one of those messages describes something you did not do, revoke the key in the dashboard and tell us.

You are responsible for what your agent does with your key, including calls it makes without a person watching. You may close your account at any time from the dashboard, and we may suspend or close an account or a key that breaches these terms.

5. Acceptable use

  • Use your own keys for your own use. Do not resell, sublicense, redistribute, republish or otherwise pass on the data and results Lagias returns, in raw or substantially derived form, to anyone outside your organization, and do not operate the service on behalf of third parties.
  • Do not present Lagias output to anyone else as investment advice, as a personal recommendation, or as an independent evaluation of a strategy you are marketing.
  • Do not wire an output straight into order execution and call the result our judgment. The verdict grades evidence; the decision, and the responsibility for it, stay with you.
  • Do not attempt to disrupt or overload the service, circumvent quotas or concurrency limits, or reverse-engineer the evaluation to reproduce it as your own.
  • Stay within the law that applies to you, including any authorization you would need before offering a regulated service of your own on top of ours.

Usage limits are published in the dashboard and enforced per account. They exist so one caller cannot take the engine away from the rest, and we will tell you before changing them in a way that would break a working integration.

6. Your content and our content

The specifications and briefs you submit remain yours. You grant us the right to process them in order to run the service and to improve it. We do not publish them.

The site, the application, the factor book, the evaluation methodology and the handbook are ours and remain ours. You may quote the handbook and the methodology page with attribution.

7. Warranty and liability

The service is provided as-is and, during development, without any assurance of availability, correctness or fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that a verdict is correct or that a strategy will behave in any particular way.

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, and for injury to life, body or health. For slight negligence we are liable only where a material contractual obligation is breached, and then only for foreseeable, typical damage. Liability under the Product Liability Act remains unaffected.

8. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms as the product changes. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new date; continued use after that constitutes acceptance.

We may assign this agreement, in whole or in part, to an affiliate or to a successor entity, for example on a reorganization or a transfer of the business, by giving you notice. Your rights under it are unaffected, and you may close your account if you would rather not continue with the new party.

German law applies. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence.
